At UC Irvine Division of Continuing Education (UC Irvine DCE), the health, safety, and well-being of our students and their dependents are our priority. We want our students to have peace of mind about their healthcare access and services. UC Irvine DCE visiting international students are required to have health insurance for the duration of their enrollment.
Students are enrolled in UC Irvine DCE’s medical insurance plan and billed the quarterly health insurance fee at the time fees are billed for the current quarter. The quarterly fee is $675. This fee is non-refundable following the waiver period. For additional information, please contact us at healthandwellness@ce.uci.edu
The UC Irvine DCE medical insurance policy for international students covers hospitalization, preventative care, medication, mental/behavioral health, and other more, with some exceptions, but does not include dental or vision (eye care). This medical insurance plan meets or exceeds the Affordable Care Act (ACA) standards.
The UC Irvine DCE medical insurance provider is Anthem Blue Cross. To create a member account and access your insurance ID card please visit the Anthem website.
The UC Irvine DCE medical insurance plan includes out-of-pocket costs that students are responsible for paying. A deductible is the amount you pay for medical care each year before your insurance begins to cover costs. A copay is a fixed fee you pay when you visit a doctor or receive medical services. The UC Irvine DCE plan requires a $100 deductible for in-network providers and a $200 deductible for out-of-network providers per Policy Year.
Students can also contact JCB/Gallagher Insurance Solutions at 866-978-7578 or GGB.JCB.Studentservices@ajg.com with questions about their plan, verification of enrollment, and how to use their insurance.
