For more than 60 years, the UC Irvine Division of Continuing Education (DCE) has been lighting the way for learners — empowering individuals and organizations to grow, evolve, and thrive through innovative courses, workshops, programs, training, and events.

We put learners at the center of everything we do, creating experiences that meet people where they are and help them move forward with confidence. Guided by heart, we lead with compassion and collaboration, connecting education to real opportunity.

Our Impact

We light the way for learners at every stage of life — from young adults launching their careers to professionals reinventing themselves, and lifelong learners driven by curiosity and purpose.

Every course, certificate program, and partnership represents a step forward — a promotion earned, a new industry entered, or a dream rediscovered. Our programs grow alongside the needs of our world, shaped by industry insight and the experiences our learners and partners share.

Each year, we serve:

  • 26,000+ enrollment across our programs, and growing
  • 6,300+ unique learners pursuing personal or professional growth
  • 2,400+ skill and career and skill focused learners who are investing in their own professional development
  • 541 Osher Lifelong Learning Institute members continuing their pursuit of knowledge

Our learners span generations — from their 20s to their 70s and beyond — proving that learning truly never stops:

  • Ages 20-29: 24.4%
  • Ages 30-39: 30.2%
  • Ages 40-49: 25%
  • Ages 50+: 18.8%

Membership Levels

(Annual – Individuals)

Member — $500+

Welcome from the Dean; name listed on the UC Irvine DCE website; quarterly impact brief; invitations to two Dean’s virtual salons per year.

Blue & Gold — $1,500+

All Member benefits plus small-group Q&A with the Dean (1×/year) and early notification for select events.

Anteater — $2,500+

All Blue & Gold benefits plus a “backstage” learning experience (meet a program chair/faculty member; optional single-session class sit-in (no academic credit).

Aldrich — $5,000+

All Anteater benefits plus invitation to the Dean’s Roundtable and an option to direct a micro-scholarship award.

Founder — $10,000+

All Aldrich benefits plus an invitation to a special stewardship event with campus and DCE leadership.

Young Alumni / Recent Learners (within 5 years)

Society entry at $250 annually with full Member benefits.

Our Stewardship Promise

Every contribution receives a tax receipt within 48 hours, a personal thank-you within 10 days, and an impact update within 30 days. Members at $10,000+ are also invited to a brief coffee or Zoom with the Dean.
