Website Accessibility Statement

UC Irvine’s Division of Continuing Education (DCE) is committed to creating and maintaining an accessible environment for all learners. By supporting accessibility, DCE helps ensure the broadest population possible can access, benefit from, and contribute to our programs and services.

Measures to Support Accessibility

To support the accessibility of our content, UCI DCE:

  • Intentionally designs accessible web content to foster an environment of inclusion
  • Routinely reviews our web content for ADA compliance and alignment with WCAG 2.1 guidelines
  • Includes accessibility in our vision statement
  • Provides training to staff and instructors on accessibility best practices

Conformance Status

We strive to maintain conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, level AA, and Section 504 and 508 of the Federal Rehabilitation Act, in alignment with UC guidelines.

The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) defines requirements for designers and developers to improve accessibility for people with disabilities. It defines three levels of conformance: Level A, Level AA, and Level AAA. UCI DCE’s website is partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 level AA. Partially conformant means that some parts of the content do not fully conform to the accessibility standard.

Limitations and Alternatives

Despite our best efforts to ensure accessibility of DCE’s website and online content, there may be some limitations. Some articles of our content management system may add empty headers. Please contact us if you observe an issue not listed above.

Feedback

We monitor and review our web content regularly, but should you encounter an accessibility barrier on our website or in our courses, please contact our webmaster or UCI’s ADA coordinator. We welcome your feedback and aim to respond within five business days.
