Please join UCI Division of Continuing Education in welcoming Hadiya Nuriddin, Owner of Duets Learning, as she presents the three primary steps for using storytelling to enhance your eLearning courses. First, you’ll learn strategies for interviewing subject matter experts to get the stories you’ll need to tell. Finally, we’ll discuss bringing stories to life using scriptwriting techniques, imagery, and audio. One’s most valuable personal asset is an ability to communicate effectively. To convey ideas and persuade an audience that a product or service is best suited to their needs, it is essential that one be able to speak articulately, in a well-organized, thoughtful, and impressive manner. In addition to a client-based audience, professionals must also be skilled in expressing their ideas and opinions to co-workers, employers and professional peers.

00371 Cybersecurity, The CMMC and Contract Management: What You Need to Know
Monday, June 7, 2021
11:00AM - 12:00PM

The U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) is working with DoD stakeholders, including: university-affiliated research centers, federally funded centers and industry at large to develop the Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC), with the aim to enhance the protection of certain information within the supply chain. The CMMC is a process that measures the ability of an organization within the defense industrial base (DIB) sector to protect such information. CMMC also adds a certification element to verify implementation of cybersecurity requirements. Contracting professionals in affected industries must know which requirements to flow down to their subcontracts as well as when a subcontract can or cannot be awarded. We will discuss the risk of contractors' reliance on certifications from subcontractors as well as ways subcontractors can protect themselves.
