Project Management

Our Project Management program equips learners with the knowledge and skills needed to successfully navigate the project life cycle, from a foundational mindset and project authorization to closing. The program’s courses build competency progressively, emphasizing strategic planning, execution, and performance monitoring. Learners will gain hands-on exposure to agile, predictive, and hybrid methodologies while focusing on leadership, stakeholder engagement, and value-driven delivery. Key topic areas include scope and risk management, quality assurance, resource governance, scheduling, procurement support, project closing procedures, and leveraging AI in project management. Throughout the program, learners will develop strategic thinking and organizational skills necessary to lead projects with confidence. Learners will obtain a structured pathway to master organizational governance and project leadership skills.

Project Management Institute (PMI) Authorized Training PartnerThe UC Irvine DCE program has been approved as a provider of project management training by the Project Management Institute (PMI®). Upon completion, learners will satisfy the education requirements to sit for the PMP® exam. Courses can fulfill the necessary education hours required to apply for the PMI® Project Management Professional (PMP®) certification exam or the Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM®) exam. Courses can also be used to maintain the PMP® credential.

Eligibility and Requirements

A candidate in the program is awarded a certificate upon the successful completion of six (6) required courses totaling 15 units, each with a letter grade of “C” or better. Find candidacy details for all certificate programs.
