Leadership Team

Kristine (Krissy) Collins

Dean, Division of Continuing Education

Krissy Collins leads DCE with the belief that learning should be accessible, flexible, and life changing. Growing up, she watched her mother complete correspondence courses and return to work after raising children, and her father take weekend courses to finish his master’s degree. Education was a non-negotiable in her family, but how you got there was up to you.

As dean, Krissy sets the strategic direction for the division, overseeing its programs, people, and partnerships at the leadership level. On any given day, she may be meeting with university leaders, engaging with industry partners to identify emerging workforce needs, or working across teams to mold new program offerings. She decides how DCE grows, where it invests, and how it upholds its mission, vision, and values. She brought that same conviction to her prior role at the University of Toronto, where she launched Canada’s first university micro-credential program and transitioned hundreds of courses online while upholding quality. That same commitment is woven into DCE’s portfolio of certificates and professional programs designed for working adults ready to upskill, reskill, or advance their careers. Krissy completed her own master’s degree while working full-time and expecting her first child—an experience that she carries with her every day.

Krissyvan K Truong, Ph.D.

Associate Dean, Academic Affairs

Dr. Krissyvan Truong oversees DCE’s academic experience from how courses and programs are designed and delivered to how learners are supported along the way. Her work is driven by the knowledge that well-built programs change careers and lives, and that working professionals deserve only excellence.

Krissyvan works closely with program managers, instructors, and instructional designers to develop and continuously improve curriculum across DCE’s portfolio. She reviews program outcomes, evaluates academic quality, ensures alignment with industry standards, and leads the processes that bring new programs and courses from concept to launch. Krissyvan came to continuing education after seeing its impact firsthand, watching her husband complete prerequisite science courses through UCLA Extension on his way to becoming a nurse. That experience formed her career and what she helps to create. With a Ph.D. in Education, Krissyvan has led transformational change across multiple institutions, modernizing curricula, building strong academic systems, and creating workforce-aligned programs in healthcare, technology, business, education, and more—all of which create real-world opportunities for learners like her husband.

Brian Breen

Chief Corporate Engagement and Partnerships Officer

For learners ready to make a career move, a strong employer partnership can make the difference. As Chief Corporate Engagement and Partnerships Officer, Brian Breen connects the business world to DCE through employer relationships and corporate education programs that help organizations upskill their teams and help learners land where they want to be. He builds relationships with employers in nearly every industry and throughout the campus, negotiates and manages corporate partnerships, and develops outreach strategies to expand DCE’s employer network.

With more than 25 years at DCE, Brian’s partnership successes include a Lean Six Sigma collaboration with Volkswagen, built on DCE’s professional development and certificate programs, which saved the company over $10 million. He also helped launch hundreds of learners into new careers through a technology boot camp. What drives him after all these years at DCE is witnessing the moment a learner reaches the goal they’ve worked so hard to achieve.

Erich Delcamp

Chief Information Officer

Erich Delcamp makes sure technology gets out of the way to let learning happen. As Chief Information Officer, he leads DCE’s technology strategy and cybersecurity efforts, building the systems and infrastructure that keep learners, instructors, and staff connected and secure. That translates into overseeing the teams responsible for maintaining and developing DCE’s technology platforms, from the learning management systems that instructors and learners rely on, to the administrative tools that keep operations running efficiently. He manages cybersecurity protocols to protect sensitive data, guides decisions about new technology investments, and ensures that digital systems are intuitive and accessible for every type of user.

In his decade at DCE, Erich moved the division to a modern cloud environment that expanded access to DCE’s programs and made it faster and easier for learners to reach them, for instructors to collaborate, and for staff to deliver a unified experience. For Erich, the measure of success is clear: when technology works well, learners and instructors never think about it. Instead, they get to focus on the work they came here to do.

Liz Larson

Chief of Staff

Liz Larson oversees human resources, finance, events, facilities, and contracts to ensure learners and staff have what they need to succeed. That means managing the operations that keep DCE running smoothly, from hiring and onboarding staff, to overseeing budgets and financial reporting, coordinating contracts with vendors and partners, to ensuring the coordination and administration of facilities and events.

A DCE veteran of more than a decade, Liz earned a J.D. and then decided to deepen her HR and project management expertise through DCE’s own Human Resources Management and Project Management certificate programs. This experience gave her a learner’s perspective on the community DCE serves, which is important because the work is personal to Liz. She believes that when people are supported and clear about what is expected, they do their best work—not just in theory, but in practice.

Beatrice Han

Chief Student Affairs and Services Officer

Beatrice Han has spent more than 35 years making sure DCE learners feel seen, supported, and set up for success. As Chief Student Affairs and Services Officer, her team directs learners through each step of their journey from admission, registration, advising, immigration support, financial services, and safeguarding student records, with the same high level of care and attention at each touchpoint. Whether a learner is pursuing a certificate, a professional development course, or a workforce development opportunity, the team is there at every step.

A dual UC Irvine graduate herself, Beatrice knows what it means to be a learner here, and she brings that understanding to every interaction the team has. She attends DCE’s annual certificate awards ceremony every year and says the moment a learner walks across that stage, with their face beaming and their family cheering, is always the clearest reminder of why this work is so meaningful.
