UC Irvine Division of Continuing Education Introduces New Fully-Online Health Care Analytics Special

Irvine, Calif. – March 4, 2019 – The University of California, Irvine Division of Continuing Education introduces the new, fully-online Health Care Analytics Specialized Studies Program, designed for those interested in growing their experience in the health care delivery, business intelligence, electronical medical records, and health care business fields. Specific areas within the health care field that collect data are pharmaceutical, research & development, and clinical informatics. This timely program teaches students to bring together analytical and research data, use data to improve patient outcomes, and improve system efficiencies for streamlined operations.

“The online health care analytics program is intended to encourage students and professionals in the field to effectively use data collection tools and manage large data sets,” said Angela Jeantet, director of engineering and life sciences programs at UC Irvine Division of Continuing Education. “Through the program, students will learn to use analytics to impact health care solutions, navigate the political, economic and financial implications of working with healthcare data, and drive new and positive industry change.”

Registration is now open for the spring course:

  • Data Assets & Data Strategy – (Spring, 2019) – Covering such wide-ranging topics as emerging trends in data governance and regulation, various ways that analytical teams are organized, connecting data strategy to improved patient outcomes, and more, the course gives students the tools to understand how to identify any gaps that may exist in an organization’s data strategy and how to adapt strategies to meet changing health care practices for improved healthcare delivery and patient experiences
  • Summer courses will start in July and include:
  • Health Care Analytics
  • Acquisition and Management of Health Care Data
  • Additional courses in the program offered throughout the year include:
  • Data Mining: Application for Health Care
  • Visualization, Decision-Analysis and Solution Delivery in Health Care Analytics
  • Precision Medicine
