New developments in advanced statistical analysis and predictive analytic techniques promise to revolutionize health and medical outcomes, and care delivery. These new techniques utilize modern machine learning and artificial intelligence methods to predict and prescribe at both the population and individual level. Here we’ll talk about the use of analytics and data science in healthcare, and will introduce the use of advanced data analytics in various health markets. Please join UCI Division of Continuing Education in welcoming Dr. Jean Marrapodi, Senior Learning Architect for Illumina Interactive Learning, as she presents Universal Design for Learning (UDL) and its set of principles for curriculum development that give all individuals equal opportunities to learn. You will discover an educational framework based on research in the learning sciences (including cognitive neuroscience) that guides the development of flexible learning environments that can accommodate individual learning differences. At the end of the session, you will recognize changes that are needed in your design practices and be able to implement UDL paradigms moving forward.
