Program Details
The M. Eng program is a professional degree designed to equip students with the skills and knowledge needed for success in industry. Spanning five departments, the program features six technical courses tailored to each concentration, enabling students to deepen their expertise while exploring practical applications in real-world settings.
In addition to technical coursework, the program offers classes in leadership and innovation, preparing graduates to excel in leadership and management roles within dynamic, fast-paced industries. Students also engage in intensive, hands-on capstone projects sponsored by local companies across diverse sectors such as aerospace and biotechnology.
To further enhance career readiness, integrated professional development courses provide essential skills that support continuous growth and advancement throughout a student’s professional journey.
M.Eng Concentrations |

1. Advanced Manufacturing |
This concentration addresses the national discussion of manufacturing as a significant and key strategic priority of the country. It also encompasses the addition of artificial intelligence/machine learning to develop next-generation processes and products. Our strong relations with manufacturing industry across the nation will be incorporated in the capstone project endeavor and curriculum. |
2. Biomedical Engineering (BioENGINE) |
The Biomedical Engineering Concentration, also known as BioENGINE (BioEngineering, Innovation, & Entrepreneurship), is designed to provide rigorous and practical hands-on team-based training in biomedical innovation, entrepreneurship/intrapreneurship, and commercialization. Students in this concentration will be trained through experiential learning to become experts and leaders in developing biomedical devices and technologies. |
3. Civil and Environmental Engineering (CEE) |
The CEE Concentration in Sustainable Data-Driven Infrastructure equips students with the technical and project management skills to design more environmentally responsible and efficient critical civil infrastructure, leveraging data analytics for improving design and project management decisions. |
4. Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (EECS) |
The EECS concentration was created through strong industry connections, ensuring that the curriculum is regularly updated to address real-world demands and the fast evolution of technology. Specializations are offered in:

5. Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering |
The Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering Concentration offers a rigorous curriculum centered on core courses such as Engineering Design and Simulation, Introduction to Machine Learning, and Professional Engineering Fundamentals and supplemented by technical electives grouped around three specializations: Autonomous and Intelligent Machines & Systems, Sustainable Energy Systems, and Nanotechnology and Microsystems. |
Program Duration
The full-time M. Eng program can be completed in as few as nine months (three quarters).
