Our Migrant Souls: A Meditation Race and the Meanings and Myths of “Latino”

Hybrid

Ethnic and racial categories confound us because so much of what they're supposed to say about us feels wrong. In this course, Héctor Tobar takes on the strange history, the hidden messages, and the powerful truths inside the ethnic (and sometimes racial) identity called "Latino." Being Latino means you have a history intertwined with the stories of the many peoples of the United States. And, more likely than not, it means there is a journey in your past that involves the borders of the United States and the building of its empire.
