See how a retired military base, with a rich agricultural history, is beginning a new life as a great metropolitan space. The Marine Corp Air Station El Toro’s World War II-era atmosphere and architecture have been preserved by means of adaptive reuse of existing buildings. Open spaces have been turned into an extensive sports complex. Following a short documentary in historic Hanger 244, we will take a tram tour, visit the Arts Complex and go up in the Great Park Balloon. The view from the tethered balloon is spectacular.
