SOCIALISM THEN AND NOW

SS 309 SOCIALISM THEN AND NOW

This class will trace the development of modern socialist thought from the 18th century to the present. It is designed to not only discuss the ideas of such famous socialists as Jeremy Bentham and Karl Marx, but also explore what socialism means in the 21st century. As progressive Democrats, to what degree are Elizabeth Warren and Bernie Sanders socialists? Does Donald Trump have socialist tendencies? It’s all a matter of perspective.

Presenter: Rainer Feldt, taught European history at Saddleback College for 16 years and served as a European History grader for the College Board.
