This course provides an overview of how human and animal brains have evolved with a focus on contrasting human and animal milestones. In the second session, this foundation will be used to discuss the issues inherent in using animals to inform research into the human brain.

Presenter: Dr. Georg Striedter,
Professor in the Department of Neurobiology and Behavior at UCI. He is the author of two books: Principles of Brain Evolution and Neurobiology: A Functional Approach.
