EVOCATIVE MUSIC: MUSIC THAT EVOKES A SENSORY EXPERIENCE
EVOCATIVE MUSIC: Music that Evokes a Sensory Experience
AH 111
Format B/C
Music can provoke strong emotions, but sometimes music is designed to make you see, hear or feel something physical: the weather (such as wind, thunder or lightning); aspects of nature (such as a mountain, a river, the sea, sunrise or moonlight); animals (such as a bumblebee, birds, snakes, cats, dogs or mules); or travel, including modes of transportation (such as boats, trains or automobiles) and destinations (such as Spain, the Austrian Alps, or the Grand Canyon). This course will show you how composers use music to create sensory experiences.
