WOMEN ARTISTS OF CALIFORNIA: 1880 to 1940 AH 102 Format B/C This beautifully illustrated presentation features many of the talented women artists active in California prior to World War II. The insightful imagery examines works ranging from California Modernism to California Impressionism and discusses the art as well as the careers of these influential women at a time when lingering Victorian mores severely restricted their livelihoods. Included among the artists Mr. Stern will discuss are Mabel Alvarez (1891-1986), Belle Baranceanu (1902-1988), Elizabeth Borglum (1848-1922), Euphemia Charlton Fortune (1885-1969), Anna Hills (1882-1930), Alberta Binford McCloskey (1863-1911), Elsie Palmer Payne (1884-1971), Donna Schuster (1883-1953) and Julia Bracken Wendt (1870-1942).
