THE 2024 TOTAL SOLAR ECLIPSE
SC 209 THE 2024 TOTAL SOLAR ECLIPSE
Format B/C
On Monday, April 8, 2024, most of North America will experience at least a partial solar eclipse. Those in a narrow path across the U.S., Mexico, and Canada can see the total eclipse. Totality reveals the atmosphere of the Sun—the corona—reaching far into space. This class explains the science and covers how to plan a trip to experience the amazing spectacle of totality. Even if you are not traveling, you’ll be prepared to safely view the partial eclipse. If you miss this one, the next chance to see totality in the U.S. isn’t until 2045! We will also cover the October 2023 annular eclipse.
