• An overview of Muhammad and the origins of Islam. The rapid expanse of the influence and the basic reasons behind the division of Shia and Sunni.
• The rise of the Ottoman Empire. The great wars for expansion and power. Contributions of Islam in the arts and sciences.
• Division of the Arab lands in 1919 to the present conflicts in the Middle East.
