Gaia is an ambitious ESA mission, launched in 2013, to chart a three-dimensional map of the Milky Way. Gaia is measuring brightness and spectra for more than a billion stars, revealing the formation, composition, dynamics, and evolution of our Galaxy. We will describe the mission, spacecraft, instrumentation, and findings.
