SC 203 LIVING WELL: THE CURRENT PANDEMIC (COVID-19)
This class will discuss the most recent epidemiology of the COVID-19 virus. We will discuss the following questions: Is the virus mutating; has our understanding of transmission changed; do masks and social distancing really work; how important are pre-symptomatic and asymptomatic shedding; what is the role of children; is the clinical picture any different; what are our diagnostic tests and how good are they; what do we now understand about treatment; where are we with vaccines; how close are we to controlling this disease?
Presenter: Thomas Cesario, M.D., University of Wisconsin, Madison; Professor of Medicine, Division of Infectious Disease, Professor Emeritus, Department of Medicine, UCI; Former Dean, UCI College of Health Sciences and School of Medicine. Dr. Cesario is a World renowned expert on multiple infectious diseases.
