SC 202 YOUR IMMUNE SYSTEM: VACCINES AND COVID-19
The concept of vaccination to induce a specific protective immune response to a disease will be discussed in general including examples from human history. The current status of the development of a vaccine for COVID-19 will be featured including the strategies of major international players – laboratories partnering with pharmaceutical companies – and the problems inherent in distributing a successful (safe and efficacious) vaccine worldwide.
