This is the first part of our new series covering the basics of our solar system. In Part 1 we will cover how the sun works, the corona, solar wind, space weather and the origin and orbits of the earth-moon system. In future semesters, we will cover the planets and their moons, and the search for life on these moons. The class will consist of DVD lectures augmented by short presentations and Q&A with the presenters.
