MARY BLAIR: WOMEN ARTISTS AT DISNEY
MARY BLAIR: WOMEN ARTISTS AT DISNEY
AH 107
Mary Blair (1911-1978) was one of the few women artists to break the glass ceiling at Walt Disney Studios in the mid-twentieth century. Her genius with form and color and her whimsical style won Walt’s approval, and she quickly became one of his favorite artists, designing the look-and-feel of such films as “Peter Pan”, “Alice in Wonderland” and “Cinderella.” The class will look at her work in the Disney movies and at Disneyland and will also discuss the efforts of other women artists working at Disney Studios.
