Project Procurement

A required course in the Certificate Program in Project Management.

Course Description

Projects can require procurement of goods or services from parties outside your organization. This course educates students about the various types of contracts and associated risks that exist, the lifecycle of a typical contract, how to select vendors, and how to perform and make changes to a contract to ensure project success.

Prerequisite: Completion of Project Management Overview is required to begin this course. The Overview course will establish the project that will be used for the duration of the program.

All courses in the Project Management Program require a PMI membership. By becoming a PMI member, you'll gain access to Standards+ and a digital version of the most recent PMBOKĀ® Guide, both of which are required for this course.

Note: The required textbook is not included in the PMI membership and will need to be purchased separately for this course.

This course uses live sessions via Zoom.   A device with audio and visual will be needed to participate.  The student guide provides additional resources/information on how to use and access your courses Zoom sessions. Please note these sessions will be recorded and posted in the course for all students to access.

Instructor


Michael T. Martin, PE, PMP, is a project manager and system architect for technology development at Northrop Grumman Corporation in El Segundo. With Northrop Grumman he has also managed numerous environmental projects in the Southern California area for soil and groundwater remediation, regulatory closure, and preparation for sale and redevelopment. Mr. Martin has masters degrees in systems engineering and business administration.
