Project Schedule & Cost

A required course in the Certificate Program in Project Management.

Course Description

To meet stakeholder requirements and successfully complete a project, project managers need to be mindful of both schedule and cost. In this course, students will learn how to estimate a timeline and develop integrated schedules and milestones, calculate critical path, calculate approximate cost and establish a project budget, and track project performance and value delivery for benefit realization.

Prerequisite: Completion of Project Management Overview is required to begin this course. The Overview course will establish the project that will be used for the duration of the program.

All courses in the Project Management Program require a PMI Membership . By becoming a PMI member, you'll gain access to Standards+ and a digital version of the most recent PMBOK® Guide, both of which are required for this course.

This course uses live sessions via Zoom.   A device with audio and visual will be needed to participate.  The student guide provides additional resources/information on how to use and access your courses Zoom sessions. Please note these sessions will be recorded and posted in the course for all students to access.

Instructor


Megan Williams, MBA, PMP is an IS Program Manager for Providence St. Joseph Health supporting all IS projects for three different regions across multiple states. Megan has extensive experience managing large scale projects pertaining to complex mergers and acquisitions, strategy, conversion of various electronic medical records, and innovation/technology. She is passionate about new product development and all things project management regardless of the execution of strategy. Additionally, Megan has expertise in setting up project management offices, a strong understanding of the project governance process, and how to lead virtual teams. Megan’s energy and contagious enthusiasm make her an effective instructor. She brings practical teachings into the classroom so students can apply the knowledge learned immediately. Megan holds a Master’s Degree in Business Administration, is a Certified Scrum Master (CSM) and a Project Management Professional (PMP). Outside the classroom, Megan coaches and mentors project managers, serves as an advisory board member for Concordia University’s Master of Health Administration (MHA) program, and an advisory board member for a wellness startup company.
