Security Architecture & Design
A required course in the Cyber Security Certificate Program.
Course Description
This course will cover principles and benefits of security architecture, trusted systems and computing base, and system and enterprise architecture along with concepts of security models and information security evaluation models (e.g. PCI-DSS). Additional topics include an overview of security capabilities, vulnerabilities, and threats and an introduction to countermeasure and defense in depth.
Prerequisite: I&C SCI X465.00 Cyber Security and I&C SCI X465.01 Secure Systems OR one year of experience with Cyber Security.
Instructor
Nischit N. Vaidya, CISSP currently is the President and Co-founder of Argotis, Inc. He also is a Sr. Security Engineering for Van Dyke Technology Group, and an instructor of Introduction to Information Assurance at Capitol College. He is qualified to teach for UC Irvine, bringing 15+ years of Information Technology experience, and almost 4 years of teaching
experience in information security. His expertise includes operating systems specifically Windows, network security appliances such as firewalls, risk assessment, and information security consulting.
