Leadership for Facilities Professionals

Course Description

Facilities managers not only have to manage facilities operations, but they also have to manage personnel. This course provides facilities professionals with sound principles of supervision and management. The topics presented benefit anyone who supervises or manages within a facilities management organization or in an environment where technical, professional, or tradespeople work. The course includes an overview of typical organizational structures and focuses on the role of supervisors in effective communication, budget basics, employee performance evaluation, change management, strategic planning, and fostering team development. Participants gain practical knowledge that can be used on the job to enhance leadership skills and improve productivity.

Recommended prerequisite: SocEcol X499, Fundamentals of Facilities Management or equivalent experience.
