Course Description
This course is an introduction to project management, the roles and responsibilities of the project manager and project team, and project methodologies, including Traditional/Waterfall, Agile, and hybrid methodologies. Students will learn what happens at each stage of the project life cycle and will explore the importance of tailoring to fit their own project context.
This course must be taken be taken as a standalone first, as it serves as a foundation for the remainder of the program. Learners will also be selecting the project that they will be using for the duration of the program. Remaining courses may be taken in any order.
This course has two required resources:
The Standard for Project Management, PMBOK® Guide, 7th Edition
PMIstandards+ Subscription: Each subscriber to PMIstandards+ will receive a complimentary 60-day trial. After the trial period, there will be a monthly fee of $8.00
These resources can be obtained in two ways:
PMI Membership : By becoming a PMI member, you'll gain access to Standards+ and a digital version of the PMBOK® Guide, 7th Edition.
PMIstandards+ Subscription (available through PMI)
This course uses live sessions via Zoom. A device with audio and visual will be needed to participate. The student guide provides additional resources/information on how to use and access your courses Zoom sessions. Please note these sessions will be recorded and posted in the course for all students to access.
