Course Description

Fundamental concepts, principles, and practical networking and internetworking issues relevant to the design, analysis, and implementation of enterprise-level trusted networked information systems are covered in this course. Topics include networking and security architectures, techniques, and protocols at the various layers of the Internet model. Security problems in distributed application environments will be analyzed and solutions discussed and implemented.

Prerequisites: I&C SCI X465.00 Introduction to Information Systems Security and I&C SCI X465.01 Secure Systems, or equivalent experience. See enrollment confirmation for login information.

Nischit N. Vaidya, CISSP currently is the President and Co-founder of Argotis, Inc. He also is a Sr. Security Engineering for Van Dyke Technology Group, and an instructor of Introduction to Information Assurance at Capitol College. He is qualified to teach for UC Irvine, bringing 15+ years of Information Technology experience, and almost 4 years of teaching experience in information security. His expertise includes operating systems specifically Windows, network security appliances such as firewalls, risk assessment, and information security consulting.
