Course Description

Theories of leadership, organizational behavior, judgment, and decision making. Comparison of management and leadership perspectives. Role of the leader in various contexts. Analysis of approaches to issues such as decentralization, the change process, and student rights.

Alysia Odipo, Ed.D. is the Assistant Superintendent of Educational Services for Los Nietos School District. She is the former Assistant Superintendent of Instructional Services for the Laguna Beach Unified School District. She has extensive experience helping teachers and administrators prepare for and examine rigorous and enduring teaching and learning, curriculum, pedagogy, and assessments to support learning. Prior to this role, Dr. Odipo served as a director, principal, assistant principal, district literacy coach, and elementary school teacher for Corona Norco Unified School District, Walnut Valley Unified School District and Hacienda La Puente Unified School District. She holds two teaching credentials - Special Educational Specialist and Multiple Subjects, a Reading Certificate from UCLA, and a Doctorate in K-12 Urban Education from the University of Southern California. She is an instructor at the University of California, Irvine, supporting educators in the administrative credential program.
