An elective course in the Agile Project Management Certificate Program and an elective in the Business Intelligence & Data Warehousing Specialized Study Program.
This course provides the foundational understanding of the drivers of the digital economy, high-level understanding of critical technologies within the economy, as well as introducing practical approaches to implementing these concepts in both operational and leadership contexts. Develop an understanding of key technologies including cloud computing, cyber security, data analytics and automation and how these can be applied to transform industries and influence new ways of working. This course is suitable for students from all levels of experience.

Douglas Ng is a digital strategist, educator, and researcher pushing the boundaries at the intersection of emerging technologies, new media, and design psychology to help organizations navigate the strategic and technological disruptions of digital transformation. Douglas has more than a decade of experience managing digital strategy in the higher education, clinical medicine, fashion/eCommerce, sports, and media sectors. He is currently the Associate Director of the Product Incubator at Harvard Business Publishing where he leads human centered design sprints for product development, capability development, and corporate innovation. Douglas holds a Bachelor of Business Administration (Management) and Bachelor of Arts in Journalism (Telecommunication Arts) from the University of Georgia and is a graduate student in the Instructional Technology & Media program at Columbia University.
