Marketing and Public Relations for the Educational Consultant

An elective course in the Independent Educational Consultant Certificate Program.

Course Description

This course provides a strong understanding of fundamental marketing and public relations principles and practices. Students learn how to develop a marketing plan, leverage branding concepts, use social networking tools, including internet forums, blogs, wikis, podcasts, and social networking sites, develop a public relations plan and analyze the effectiveness of small business strategic and tactical plans.

NOTE: This course may have optional, live sessions via Zoom. The sessions will be recorded and posted for students who are not able to attend. Kristie Aylett, APR, is an agency principal of The KARD Group Public Relations/Marketing, a consulting firm with clients across the country. She has taught at her alma mater Texas Christian University and Tulane University and led workshops on the business benefits of social networking. A 20-year veteran of the PR profession, Aylett holds leadership positions with several PR associations.
