Course Description
Examine the essential principles of contract law. The elements of an enforceable contract, who can enter into a contract, defenses to formation of contract, and legal and equitable remedies for breaches of contract will be explored.
NOTE: This course has live sessions via Zoom. Students should plan to attend all Zoom sessions. If a student is unable to attend a session, a recording will be available. The Zoom meeting link and password to join will be provided in the course. A device with audio and visual will be needed to participate. Virginia A. Suveiu, Esq., counsels on regulatory compliance and commercial law matters, including contract life cycle and negotiation. She is Chief Safeguard Officer at Balance To Success and Of Counsel at Volkov Law Firm. She is currently editing a handbook on Risk Management and the Law for Routledge. Virginia is a mediator and arbitrator for the International Chamber of Commerce, the Orange County Bar Association and the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority. She is on the Board of Directors of the National Contract Management Association-Orange County. She is affiliated with and has been invited to speak to professional organizations on business law-related issues. She is an active member of the State Bar of California and admitted to the U.S. District Court, Central District of California. Virginia has held numerous positions in academia, including as founding dean and professor, instructor and developer. In 2016, Virginia was given the Distinguished Instructor Award by UCI DCE.
