Course Description

Advancements in technology have made data easily available for use. This introductory analytics course starts with an overview of data analytics to introduce the different types of data and fundamental concepts behind collecting, storing, and analyzing data. A survey of the different types of analytics (descriptive, diagnostic, predictive, and prescriptive) will provide insight on how each type can be applied to derive the most benefit from available data. Use cases will be discussed to evaluate best-practices and lessons learned.

Prerequisite(s): None.

Shaema Talib MBA, MS, CSM is the VP of Product Management and Analytics at MedSys Healths. She has over 20 years of experience working with data with experience in data analysis, analytics and data visualization. She has worked as an analyst as well as an Executive. For the past 15 years, she has been setting Analytics and Visualization strategy in healthcare to provide stakeholders with tools to help improve patient health outcomes. She has experience in Data Analysis, Data Governance, Dashboard Design, Data Visualization and Data Storytelling. She loves to coach and guide individuals to become data drive and use data as a tool to make sound business decisions. She teaches Data Analytics and Data Science at City University of New York and Data Visualization to the MBA students at Brenau University.
