You must be admitted to the Preliminary Administrative Services Credential program prior to enrolling in this course.
This course includes the study of political, social and economic forces affecting public school systems including an analysis of the major trends impacting public education. Federal, State and County mandates and policies related to funding requirements, court decisions, and other influences are investigated and analyzed. The organization, administration and control of local school districts including school boards, administrators, unions, professional organizations, and pressure groups are addressed. Concepts of authority, power and influence will be examined. Finally, the course looks at strategic plans (LCAP), public relations, and strategies for communicating school accomplishments.
