Course Description
This course covers the major concepts, tools, techniques, and applications of Agile Project Management. Beginning with the values and principles that support agile theories, a number of key Agile frameworks and approaches, including Scrum and Extreme Programming, will be explored. Through examples and discussion, the course will elaborate on Agile Scaling approaches such as Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe), Scrum@Scale, and Nexus. The course will then take a deeper look into how organizations can incorporate Agile Planning and Team Dynamics to effectively manage a project in an agile environment. The course will wrap-up with a survey of commonly-used Agile tools and industry-recognized certifications.
Prerequisite: None.

Instructor
Bob Tarne, M.S., PMP, CSM, PMI-ACP, is the Smarter Process PMO Leader with IBM Software Group, where he specializes in directing process improvement initiatives using Business Process Management (BPM) software following lean/agile project management techniques. Bob leads software development teams while providing coaching and guidance to clients to allow them to become self-sufficient in managing their process improvement projects. Prior to joining IBM, Bob was a managing Consultant with PM Solutions, where he was responsible for improving client's project management practices. He has held project management roles in other organizations, including Sprint and as an office in the US Navy. Mr. Tarne is an experienced speaker, having presented at numerous events including international project management conferences and local events. His presentation topics include agile project management process improvement, communications, and leadership skills.
