Principles of Financial Analysis

Course Description

Learn the basic analytical and mathematical tools used in personal financial planning. The concepts of cash flow, time value of money, present value, future value, annuities, amortization, net present value, and internal rate of return will be explored.

Early registration recommended. An HP-12C or HP-10BII calculator is required (Note: HP12C is used to teach majority of the PFP courses). For career changers, this is a prerequisite for all PFP courses, although you may take this concurrently with the Survey of Personal Financial Planning course. You may access your online course on the first day of class by 12pm (noon) Pacific Standard Time. This course uses live sessions via Zoom. A device with audio and visual will be needed to participate. The following student guide provides additional resources/information on how to use and access your courses Zoom sessions. All webinars will be recorded and posted on the course website for those who cannot participate in the live sessions.
