Creating Your Online E-Learning Portfolio
Course Description
This instructor-led course provides participants with the opportunity to craft a portfolio that will position them to find work as instructional designers or e-learning developers. This course takes participants through the entire process of creating an online portfolio, from defining the target audience and picking a tool through creating a polished website to share samples. During the course, participants will receive guidance and feedback from instructors and peers to improve their portfolio. Participants will use e-learning samples previously created (either as part of the UCI DCE E-Learning Instructional Design Certificate Program, their jobs, or independent work) to tailor their portfolio to appeal to hiring managers.
See enrollment confirmation for login information. Please register for the course at least two weeks prior to the start date. Participants should already have a minimum of two e-learning samples completed prior to enrolling in this course. Creation of e-learning samples is outside the scope of this course. For participants enrolled in the E-Learning Instructional Design Certificate Program, it is strongly recommended to complete the Practicum prior to enrolling in this course. This course may require participants to download and install some applications and software from the Internet.
NOTE: This course may have optional, live sessions via Zoom. The sessions will be recorded and posted for students who are not able to attend. The Zoom meeting link and password to join will be provided in the course. A device with audio and visual will be needed to participate. The following student guide provides additional resources/information on how to use and access the course’s Zoom sessions.
