This unique course in Sport Law and Finance combines in-depth analysis of two critical topics related to the business of sport. Students will be exposed to a wide range of topics including key aspects of the US legal System, Tort Law, Risk Management, Sports Agency Law, Introduction to Sport Finance as well as Current Trends in Sport Business. Student learning will be influenced by relevant course readings, current sport business case studies, and participating in highly-engaging project-based assignments.
This course is an online course, utilizing Zoom Meeting for weekly live synchronous sessions. To join your course meetings, you will need to enter a password. Your session password associated with your course will be shared in the announcement in your online course. All of your course sessions using Zoom will be recorded and posted on the course website for those who cannot participate in the live sessions, which will also require the password for you to listen to them. Students will need to have access to the internet, have speakers and a microphone to participate in their courses synchronous sessions
You may access your online course by 12pm (noon) Pacific Standard Time on the start date through your UCI DCE web account at https://ce.uci.edu/. Select “My Account,” then “My Courses” from the menu on the left, and lastly “Access Canvas” to access your online course. Instruction begins promptly on the start date.
