Rocky Murray, Ed.D. is currently serving in the role of Executive Director, Curriculum, Instruction, and Categorical Programs in the Huntington Beach Union High School District. In that role, Dr. Murray works directly with school sites, and District leadership on all facets of the District categorical programs, and all aspects of curriculum and instruction, as well as professional development. Dr. Murray returns to the HBUHSD after a two year stint in the Saddleback Valley Unified School District where he worked with all secondary principals from nine schools that include four intermediate schools, four comprehensive high schools, and one alternative education school. Prior to serving in his current role, Dr. Murray was the principal of Huntington Beach High School. He served in the principal role of Huntington Beach High, known as the flagship school of the Huntington Beach Union High School District for three years.
Dr. Murray started his career in education as an English teacher and coach in the Capistrano Unified School District. He served a total of 14 years in Capistrano Unified, and is currently in his 20th year in education. Dr. Murray earned his Ed. D. in Urban Leadership from The University of Southern California.
