This course covers the major concepts, tools, techniques, and applications of Agile Project Management. Beginning with the values and principles that support agile theories, a number of key Agile frameworks and approaches, including Scrum and Extreme Programming, will be explored. Through examples and discussion, the course will elaborate on Agile Scaling approaches such as Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe), Scrum@Scale, and Nexus. The course will then take a deeper look into how organizations can incorporate Agile Planning and Team Dynamics to effectively manage a project in an agile environment. The course will wrap-up with a survey of commonly-used Agile tools and industry-recognized certifications.
NOTE: This course uses live sessions via Zoom. A device with audio and visual will be needed to participate. The following student guide provides additional resources/information on how to use and access your courses Zoom sessions.
Lori Garcia, M.S., E.M.B.A, PMP, CSM, with experience in Leadership, Engineering and Project Management spanning over 30 years. Currently, she is Agile IT Project Manager for Medical Devices at Medtronic managing several mobile application projects for Insulin Pump Therapy in support of the Diabetes division. Lori specializes in directing software/test initiatives using lean/agile project management techniques in the area of Quality in support of diabetes patients worldwide. She brings a wealth of experience through her diverse industry background experience including
senior level positions in Aerospace, including Boeing, Rockwell Collins and Northrop Grumman.
Lori was awarded the “Star of Excellence Award” from Medtronic, is a current member of the Society of Women Engineers and has worked as Development Co-Chair at Medtronic Women’s Network.
