Learn how to recognize and take advantage of income tax planning opportunities. The concepts of income, deductions, rates, credits, sales, exchanges, tax favored investments, passive activity rules, and basic limitations will be explored.
Early registration recommended. The HP-12C or HP-10BII calculator is required. Required prerequisites: MGMT X433.20 Principles of Financial Planning and MGMT X433 Survey of Personal Financial Planning or equivalent experience. This course is required to sit for the CFP Examination. You may access your online course on the first day of class by 12pm (noon) Pacific Standard Time. This online course may include webinars using an online conferencing tool called Zoom. All webinars will be recorded and posted on the course website for those who cannot participate in the live sessions. Optional weekly office hours will be hosted by the instructor via Zoom.
Lee Schuh, CFP®, ChFC, EA, has prepared every sort of tax return since the early 1960’s and taught taxes to CFP® candidates, graduate students and undergrads. He represented clients before the IRS for taxes and retirement issues. He has been involved in many government audits by various government auditors including the IRS and has appeared as a witness in several Tax Court cases including two wherein he was a witness for the IRS. In recent years, he has performed pro bono advising in tax planning.
