Course Description

Gain an in-depth understanding of SCAQMD air quality permitting and regulatory compliance as applied to Industrial and Government facilities. Explore the responsibilities and regulations of air quality management agencies on federal, state and local levels. Prepare for the SCAQMD Certified Professional Permitting exam. Get instruction in permit application preparation and examine issues related to permitting and compliance such as identifying and quantifying emissions, calculating air toxic health risks, and determining rule compliance. Learn about the Federal Clean Air Act revisions (including Title V), the California Clean Air Act, AB 32 Greenhouse Gas Legislation, and the SCAQMD RECLAIM Program. This course will assist those studying to take the SCAQMD’s Certified Permitting Professional exam.

NOTE: This course helps directly prepare you for the South Coast AQMD’s Certified Permitting Professional Examination, which will be held on June 20, 2020 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.  Location: SCAQMD Headquarters, 21865 Copley Dr., Diamond Bar, CA 91765.

Judy Yorke, B.S., PE, CPP, founder and president of Yorke Engineering, LLC, has extensive air quality permitting and environmental regulatory compliance experience with industry and government. As a practicing environmental professional, she provides environmental compliance and planning services to manufacturing and industrial operations, federal, state, and local governments, major power producers, oil and gas producers, oil refiners, and utilities. Yorke is a recognized expert in federal, state, and local air pollution control laws. She has performed hundreds of environmental management and planning projects for industrial and governmental operations. She has taught the Air Quality UCI DCE for over 20 years.
