PHP is the most popular server-side scripting language that powers hundreds of millions of web sites worldwide. This hands-on PHP Fundamentals course provides the basic knowledge and web programming concepts necessary to design and develop dynamic, database-driven web pages. You will learn the fundamentals of the PHP programming language, how to write and debug PHP code, how to effectively use many of its powerful features, and how to design and build your own PHP web sites. This course covers topics such as data types and comparison operators, functions, strings and arrays, loops, control and decision structures, and PHP web development concepts. You will also learn how to design and create a web database using the popular MySQL DBMS to function as a backend database system for your dynamic PHP web applications.

Christian V. Hur is an instructor and author who holds a Master of Science in Computer Information Systems with a concentration in Web Application Development from Boston University. His career in web technologies spans over 20 years and he has taught computer programming and web development courses at both the undergraduate and graduate level.
