Sport Management Internship

Course Description

The Sport Management Internship course is an elective in the Sport Management Certificate program. Students will work with the internship coordinator to secure a 30-hour sport management internship opportunity. Along with completing 30 hours on-site, students will submit 6 reflection papers and regularly update their internship time log.

Rashaad Moore serves as the Assistant Athletics Director for UCI Athletics. Moore manages the Anteater Athletic Fund (AAF), the official fundraising arm of UC Irvine’s Department of Intercollegiate Athletics. His role includes developing UCI Athletics’ 350+ student-athletes and 18 Division I programs in the following areas: Student-Athlete Scholarships, Academic Support, Recruiting, Facility Enhancements, Equipment Upgrades, Sports Medicine, Strength and Conditioning. Additionally, Moore manages renovations for capital projects that include the new state-of-the-art Tennis Complex and renovations to Anteater BallPark and manages the UCI Athletics Development internship program, assisting students with gaining relevant work experience and finding career opportunities in the sports industry. Prior to joining UCI Athletics, Moore served as the Director of Development for UCLA Athletics. Moore received his Sports Management certificate from Columbia University and he is a Master’s candidate in Sports Management at the University of San Francisco.
