An elective course in the Web Design Certificate Program.

Course Description

In this course, students will learn how to refine their visual design talents and create innovative designs. Fundamental design theory, professional processes, and audience-focused outcomes are the core of these skill-centered lessons. Design from an in depth, analytical approach to create design solutions that are not only skillfully crafted but strategic and solution-oriented. Through a project-based approach, students will develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills, artistic perception, and practice peer critique and self-reflection throughout the process. Required Prerequisites: I&C SCI X471.63 Introduction to UX for Web Design AND I&C SCI X450.16 Visual Prototyping.

Instructor


Kristen Henmueller, MBA, is the interactive Design Manager for Quill.com, specializing in Web and Email design. She has over 10 years of experience working as a User Experience Designer and over 20 years working in the design industry on top brands including Quill.com, True Value, Follett Library Resources and Spiegel. She has developed many user experiences including complex order management systems, apps and online ecommerce website experiences. She has taught web design and usability at Westwood College and is the founding president of Quill Toastmasters.
