Nonprofit Financial Management
This is a required course in the Nonprofit Management Specialized Studies Program.
Course Description
Delve into the financial considerations of nonprofit management and fundraising. Topics include principles of financial management, basic accounting principles, fund management, tax considerations, special concerns for endowments and grants, organizational reporting obligations and operational efficiency.
See enrollment confirmation for login information. Please enroll at least one week prior to the course start date. Successful completion of this course is applicable for 15 points in Category 1.B – Education of the CFRE International application for initial certification and/or recertification.
NOTE: This course may have optional, live sessions via Zoom. The sessions will be recorded and posted for students who are not able to attend. The Zoom meeting link and password to join will be provided in the course. A device with audio and visual will be needed to participate. The following student guide provides additional resources/information on how to use and access the course’s Zoom sessions.
Instructor
Brandy Reinke, MNpS is a nonprofit professional with over 20 years of nonprofit accounting and auditing, human resources, operations, and IT Conversions experience. Ms. Reinke has held a range of positions in various nonprofit organizations from staff accountant to CFO. Ms. Reinke proudly earned her master’s degree in Nonprofit Studies at Arizona State University in 2013 and she received an undergraduate degree in accounting from University of Montana. She also previously taught Financial Management for Nonprofits course at Arizona State University.
