Cryptoeconomics
Gain a better understanding of the digital revolution happening around the world as cryptocurrencies and blockchain technologies are developed and increasingly being woven into the fabric of society. This course will provide a conceptual and practical understanding of the changes happening, and the new possibilities created as the cryptoeconomy becomes mainstream. Topics covered include a history of alternative currencies, pros and cons of peer-to-peer networks, ICOs, stablecoins, and other crytoeconomic innovations, and applications of smart contracts.
Prerequisite: I&C SCI X471.37 Introduction to Blockchain Technologies is recommended but not required.
