Entrepreneurial Management Medtech and Biopharma Products

This course provides an overview of the full BioBusiness Enterprise program. It helps you to understand the logic of the full program and the linkages between the different courses. It is an introduction to entrepreneurial management: how to successfully take your biomedical product to the market. It will provide an introduction to understand the biomedical industry and how to successfully run a biomedical business. You will learn from entrepreneurs, corporate innovation managers and investors what makes a distinctive, riveting venture start up, as well as the pitfalls. We will explore entrepreneurship as a gate-staged development process, from opportunity sourcing, strategy and design to manufacturing and regulatory approval. The focus is on upscaling medtech and biopharma ventures at the different stages of growth and the challenges a manager faces to transform a young, small firm into a much larger successful multinational firm. The course will help you to understand the idiosyncrasies of the medical marketing environment, the key stakeholders and its impact on strategic decisions. Whilst providing an introduction to broad entrepreneurial business management concepts and relating them specifically to the development of the company during the process of commercialization. Topics include: entrepreneurial management, entrepreneurial marketing, venture team leadership, corporate venture structure, early stage financing M&A and corporate partnerships.
