Building Cognitive Curriculum

In providing today's learners for the world of tomorrow, it is vital for educators to shift instructional practices in order to embody the ideals of cognitive approaches to teaching and learning. This course addresses ways to empower students to take on the responsibility for educational growth, and engender the need for self-instruction and cognitive effort individually. Topics include meta-learning (the process by which learners take control of their own learning), growth-mindset lessons, structuring for optimal engagement, and using formative assessments to foster a self-learner in and out of the classroom.
