EDUC X417.3

E-Learning Evaluation and Assessment

A required course in the E-Learning Instructional Design Certificate Program.

Program evaluation is often viewed as the final step in an effective approach to e-learning instructional design since it measures the value of training. This course takes an integrated approach in which evaluation and assessment are an integral part of the process, setting in place the ability to analyze the outcome to determine whether or not the learning objectives and business goals were met. In this course, students explore the models, principles, and practices employed in conducting effective and thorough training evaluations. Students will develop an evaluation plan, write a cognitive exam and performance test, create an evaluation survey, and carry out a return on investment analysis.

We highly recommend students complete EDUC_X416.18 Principles of E-Learning Instructional Design and EDUC_X417.1 Designing and Developing Interactive E-Learning Courses prior to enrolling in this course. Before starting this course, students must purchase or otherwise have access to an authoring tool like Articulate 360 or other comparable tool.
